About Nancy and Frank Bell

We own two traditional summer camps for children where the primary focus is on developing outdoor skills. Camp Mondamin, www.mondamin.com, is our boys’ camp and Camp Green Cove, www.greencove.com, is our girls’ camp. Mondamin was started in 1922 by Frank’s father and is located on the north shore of Lake Summit. Green Cove was built in 1946 and was directed for many years by Calla Bell, Frank’s mother. It is located on the south side of Lake Summit. In 1973, Frank started directing Mondamin and in 1980, Frank’s sister took over Green Cove and continues to be the director. Our son Andrew started directing Mondamin when Frank retired in 2014. Our land has been in the family since the early 1900’s and, with the exception of the summer months, is virtually deserted except for family members and a few employees. Our house and guest house are separate and apart from Camps Mondamin and Green Cove.
Our small mountain is named “Little Man Mountain”. It was named after Frank by Frank’s father when Frank was a little boy, and when the land was still undeveloped. Frank’s parents cleared the land and built their home in 1960. This house was destroyed by fire in 2008 and we decided to build our dream retirement home and add a guest house on the site.
We have three grown children, all with spouses and each with two children. We also have two dogs, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers. We adore our dogs! Lati (La Ti Da), our girl, is now eleven. Hawk, our boy, is seven. Hawk and Nancy compete in the sport of dog agility.
